Verstappen from thirteenth starting position in the Grand Prix of China – NU.nl

The 17-year old Dutchman Toro Rosso clocked 1.38,393 in the second qualifying round, in which he was slightly faster than his team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr. (1.38,538), which starts one place behind him.

Q1 Verstappen was good for the sixth time. In Q2 knew the Limburger is then unable to rally in the top ten drivers, so he could not participate in the final qualifying round

Hamilton

Hamilton wrote in Q3 with 1.35,782 the fastest time on the 5.4-kilometer circuit. The Briton Mercedes finds his German team mate Nico Rosberg (1.35,824) beside him on the front row. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) will start from third place (1.36,687).

For reigning world champion Hamilton is his third pole position in a row and the 41st of his career in the premier class of motor racing.

The Briton Jenson Button and Spaniard Fernando Alonso were disappointing in their McLaren. The experienced pair could only start in Q1 and Sunday to take pleasure in disappointing seventeenth and eighteenth starting position
