The last couple of owners were the world record, although very good time trial riders, not necessarily the names that you would associate with it: a Rohan Dennis, after an Alex Dowsett. Who else but Sir Bradley Wiggins, a man like no other knows how to have a job and to ride against the clock to record the reflection. Wiggins pulverized the record of Dowsett (52.937 kilometers), put last month, and rode 54.526 kilometers in one hour.
It was not a question of whether the Briton, former Olympic and world champion on the track and road and winner of the Tour de France in 2012, would break the record, but with many kilometers. Prior to the race, the Briton said that would be a little over 55 kilometers realistic. That did not succeed tonight on the job by him beloved London Velodrome, but a large improvement it was called.
Wiggins is the fifth to break the world record since the UCI, the international federation, the modified rules. As of last year, which allowed cyclists bike then use that can be used for endurance components on the track. Jens Voigt was in September last year, the first to set a new record (51.110 kilometers), followed by the Austrian Matthias Brändle (51.582), the Frenchman Dennis (52.491) and the Briton Dowsett (52.937).
Three others failed in their attempt, including the Dutchman Thomas Dekker. He arrived on February 25, just not to the record of Dennis.
