Roger Federer has tonight for the 26th time his career for the finals in a grand slam tournament. The Swiss calculated in the semi-finals of the US Open with his fellow countryman Stan Wawrinka. In the final, Federer plays against Novak Djokovic, who won rather simple Marin Cilic.
Wawrinka. The number two in the world, won his match in three sets: 6-4, 6-3 and 6-1. Djokovic won by an even simpler. He defeated Cilic, the winner of last year, 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2.
Can Federer in New York City now chasing his eighteenth grand slam title. The Swiss was five times more likely to be the best in the tennis tournament at Flushing Meadows. The last time Federer in the final of the US Open had was in 2009, when lost Federer in five sets of Argentine Juan Martin del Potro.
Novak Djokovic is the eighteenth time he hit a grand slam final plays. The Serb was on the US Open five times before in the final battle. Of these, he won only one, in 2011 against Rafael Nadal. Last year, Federer and Djokovic arrived in New York both to the semi-finals.
