Czech Republic Orange leaves in the lurch – Telegraaf.nl

The escape hatch for a place at the European Championships in France are Dutch team still remains on a tiny little crack. Orange did Saturday in Kazakhstan’s duty and dikverdiend won 2-1 against the Kazakhs, but Turkey picked up later in the evening to the Czech Republic also the full loot: 0-2

With this result, Orange can only third in Group A as the Turks Tuesday to be swept in their last match against Iceland. Netherlands must-captive audience once again beat the Czechs to do so to still get the coveted ticket to the playoffs.

The Czech Republic dominated before the break. The best chance in the first half belonged to Josef Sura, but knocked completely free alongside the Turkish goal. A few minutes after the start signal, the Turks saw be disallowed a goal by Cenk Tosun for offside.

After the break, the Czechs were again stronger and got some chances, but it was Turkey who took the lead. After a silly foul by Filip Novak on Serdar Aziz and the referee had no choice than put the ball on the spot. Selcuk Inan made no mistake: 0-1. Ten minutes from time it was 2-0 for the Turks by a goal from Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
