Gullit remembers: “I was surprised about Johan Cruijff” – FCUpdate.nl

11:50 – Like the entire football world cherishes fond memories of Ruud Gullit, Johan Cruyff, on Thursday at the age of 68 died in Barcelona. In his column in The Telegraph Gullit looks back on the time he made with the legendary number fourteen.

At Feyenoord Gullit worked with Cruyff. “That was a rewarding time. It was the summer of 1983, when he joined Feyenoord. I wanted a finger but I got both hands. That’s my career definitely formed, because he already preparing me for the things that could possibly happen . “

Gullit surprised that season on the physical condition and quality of the former Ajax player. “At Feyenoord I made him a whole year. He was already 36 years old and I marveled at the fact how good he was at that age. I tried once to chase him on the training,” continues the analyst. “he’s the ball I was in the back and on top, but I failed to catch him. then I thought to myself, how good this man does not when he was young and fit as a fiddle?”
