Only the German Joachim Eilers (1.00,042) was in the final stage faster than the Dutchman, who was world champion in 2005 or the one kilometer time trial. Forest was one of the first start and clocked a time of 1.00,461.
With his silver medal Forest made a successful comeback to the World Cup track, after he had been active on the road. The last time he was on the track fighting for the world title in 2008.
Late last year Bis decided, in view of the upcoming Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, returning to the track
the last Dutchman who took the world title in the kilometer time trial won Teun Mulder in 2010. the part is no longer olympic since 2008.
