Michael Phelps is aiming indeed at Rio Games – The Latest News

The American swimming winner Michael Phelps on Wednesday for the first time admitted that he did in the Olympics next year in Rio de Janeiro hopes to participate. “I can not wait to see my teammates of the US team this summer with a view to Rio,” the Baltimore Bullet presented Wednesday at a press conference. “You are the first to hear this, as if it was a big secret,” laughed Phelps.

The 29-year-old Phelps, with eighteen gold medals, the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, was until recently a suspension from. He was sentenced by the American federation after being in September 2014 in his hometown Baltimore police drunk behind the wheel was picked. That incident cost him incidentally a suspended prison sentence of one year.

From Thursday he makes his comeback, starting with the GP in Mesa (Arizona). At the World Championships next summer in the Russian Kazan (24 / 7-9 / 8) However, he is not there. US swimming federation had imposed that sanction him because he worried the country reputational damage.

After the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the American had his farewell scheduled, but in April 2014 he returned to competition.
