Marco van Basten is the new assistant coach Danny Blind in Orange. The former international joins from AZ, where he was assistant to John van den Brom

The KNVB and AZ already reached an agreement on the surrender of one year continuous contract by Van Basten. Negotiations between the union and the former striker about his salary made for any delay.
Blind Van Basten from the start was the best candidate. For AZ, Van Basten and the KNVB was a double function is not negotiable. For that reason there was no other option than to surrender the contract.
Van Basten signed a contract for three years. This means that the contract is similar to that of Blind.
World Cup 2006
The transition remains special. Exactly ten years after the World Cup in Germany (2006) itself was coach, Van Basten was at the European Championships of 2016 (as Orange fetching) operate as an assistant coach.
