The Dutch dressage team to the European title fight in Aachen won the gold medal in the team competition. Edward Gal was the undisputed winner in the formation of national coach Wim Ernes, with a score of just over 82 percent. Which he graduated with Undercover.
The team also consisted of Hans Peter Minderhoud with Johnson, Diederik van Silfhout with Arlando and Patrick van der Meer Uzzo. The objective of Orange in Aachen was bronze.
Gal put great pressure on the favorites from Germany and England, by being the first on the day above eighty percent come from. The British Charlotte Dujardin with Valegro there remained just above, but for the Olympic champions not enough to supplant Netherlands in the first place.
It’s only the third time that the Netherlands has won European gold, after earlier successes in Turin (2007) and Windsor (2009). The last international title was won in Kentucky in 2010, where Orange thanks to the top of Totilas then still Gal conquered the world. All those successes were achieved under the leadership of Sjef Janssen, now active as coach of Belgium
