The Dutch managed to make its first series in a time of 8.18,48. Slovenia’s Anja Klinar was second nearly two seconds from Van Rouwendaal.
In the overall rankings, the Dutch finished third, behind the Hungarian Boglarka Kapas (8.17,68) and the British Jazmin Carlin (8.18,43) .
The finals will be swum Thursday afternoon. Of Rouwendaal is one of three nominees for the title of sportswoman of the year.
Brzoskowski
At the 400-meter freestyle in the men swam Maarten Brzoskowski a Dutch record. With a time of 3.40,87 improved the 20-year-old Dutchman with Polish roots, the old record of Ferry Weertman and he qualified fifth for the final. The Hungarian Peter Bernek was the fastest: 3.39,84
Moniek Nijhuis got through to the semi-finals of the 50 meter breaststroke.. The 27 year old Dutch finished with a time of 30.36 second in her series. Only Russian Natalia Ivaneeva was with a time of 30.25 faster.
In the overall standings Nijhuis explained batter in fourth place. The semi-finals will be swum later in the day.
World Record
On the 50 meter breaststroke for men it was curtains for Sebas van Lith, although he was a personal best of 27.66 came.
The Hungarian Katinka Hosszu swam a world record in the series of the 400 meters medley. She improved with the record time of 4.19,45 Mireia Belmonte Garcia swam in Doha last year
