Jackson Martínez continues his career in China. The Colombian is a record amount of Atlético Madrid to Guangzhou Evergrande FC.
Choose a club in China paid so much money for a player like Guangzhou, which around 42 million down counts for the 29-year-old striker. Martínez played only half a year at Atletico Madrid, which for 35 million euros last summer he took over FC Porto. With the latter club he scored no less than 92 times in 133 official matches.
Atlético Martínez hoped to follow in the footsteps of the South Americans, Sergio Agüero, Diego Forlán, Radamel Falcao and Diego Costa, who in recent seasons for many goals made and Atlético used as a springboard to a bigger club. Plagued by injuries, however, Martínez had only two goals in fifteen matches in La Liga.
Martinez replaces at Guangzhou Evergrande Brazilian Elkeson, which two weeks ago for 18.5 million euros to Shanghai SIPG relocated. The Colombian signed for four seasons at the club coached by Luiz Felipe Scolari.
