Bayern wins thanks to early goals first quarterfinal against Benfica – NU.nl

The Chilean headlined within two minutes after the first whistle all the winning goal in on a pass from Juan Bernat.

The match at the Allianz Arena was just beginning or Vidal showed cheering home crowd. After an attack on many discs he headed a cross from left back Bernat behind goalkeeper Ederson. Even after the 1-0 Bayern kept pushing. The home team played the famous attacking game but lacked sharpness in the finish.

So Robert Lewandowski was on a cross from Philipp Lahm just trumped by Ederson and also found Thomas Müller keeper moments later with a shot at his path. Müller was at a swerving free kick still dangerous and Vidal got a chance for a header. There Benfica could only two shooting opportunities put in front.

Final Offensive

After the break Bayern made the game. Yet it was after more than ten minutes Benfica which was the closest to a goal. Jonas saw his shot saved by Bayern goalie Manuel Neuer.

However, the use of Jonas was missing the return by a yellow card, the prelude to an offensive phase of Benfica. The Brazilian shot against the Joshua Kimmich sunken Javi Martinez. Kostas Mitroglou did not stand in sharp visor in the rebound.

A final offensive Bayern produced a huge opportunity for Lewandowski on. After a beautiful through ball from Vidal decided to adapt the Pool on Lahm rather than shoot himself, but he did too sharp.

Arjen Robben was not in the squad of Germans. The Dutch winger is still on the side with a thigh injury
