Guus Hiddink has its own depth record as coach of Orange equaled. The 68-year-old Varssevelder cashed today against Mexico its fourth loss in five games during his second reign at the Dutch national team. In 1995 Hiddink also started with four defeats in five games. Never started another coach so bad with Orange.
During his first period Hiddink lost first from France (both 0-1) and Portugal. Dutch team had after winning in Malta (4-0) also bow to the Czech Republic (1-3) and Belarus (0-1). Then picked orange wire still on, after the European Championships of 1996 was reached.
Hiddink started his second term as head coach with defeats against Italy (0-2) and Czech Republic (1-2). Orange then knocked Kazakhstan (3-1), but then had to weather two defeats against Iceland (0-2) Wednesday and Mexico (2-3).
