The table tennis women’s singles final at the European Games is a Dutch affair. Li Jie and Li Jiao this morning qualified for the finals in Azerbaijan.
In Baku charged Li Jie in the semi-final resolutely with the Slovak Eva Odorova. Li Jie triumphed in four rapid games: 4-0 (11-4 11-5 12-10 11-7). Li Jiao had an hour later, more trouble with the Turkish Hu Melek, but nevertheless won in six games: 4-2 (11-7 11-13 11-9 12-10 8-11 11-9)
Netherlands is assured of another gold and a silver medal in Baku. For the table tennis women besides waiting for an additional price; the winner is placed directly in front of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. (Reuters)
