Johan Cruyff was born in the Civil Hospital at the Amsterdam Linnaeusstraat on Friday, april 25th, 1947. He was the second son of Cornelis Hermanus Cruijff and Petronella Bernarda Draaijer, which they named him to the grandfather on their mother’s side; Hendrik Johannes Draaijer. Cruyff grew up with his older brother Henny half years in the Akkerstraat in the district Betondorp, a stone’s throw from the former Ajax stadium De Meer.
