The transfer of midfielder Nemanja Gudelj from AZ to Ajax leaves for the eighth time in ten years a player from Alkmaar to Amsterdam. The Amsterdam experiencing a period reportedly more than 30 million euros to the province enjoyed. That is almost one and a half times the annual budget of AZ, the current number four of the Premier League.
The flow of Alkmaar players came to Amsterdam in 2005, initiated by Olaf Lindenbergh, followed a year later by Kenneth Perez. In 2009, Demy de Zeeuw moved to Amsterdam in 2010, Mounir El Hamdaoui, in 2011 and in 2012 Kolbeinn Sigthórsson Niklas Moisander. Last summer was Nick Viergever transition which until 2005 only in the early sixties was created by brothers Henk and Siem Thyme.
