Ajax wants a new training complex in ten years to realize right beside the Arena. The plan coincides with municipal plans for housing. Ajax is possible in the land transaction owns the Arena.
It takes a while for the first pile into the ground, but broods behind the scenes Ajax on an ultra-modern accommodation. “Ajax City,” a working name of the municipality Parent-Amstel, to replace the Future. Ajax’s current training complex has been in use since 1996. Despite numerous renovations Future considerably less advanced than, say, the home of FC Barcelona, Ajax has watched with great interest.
The intention of Ajax for a new accommodation is related to plans of the municipalities Parent Amstel and Amsterdam. Under the name The New Nuclear they have planned 4,500 homes in the area around the Arena. The future must make way for homes and in return Ajax claiming the space next to the Ajax Arena City. To this end, Ajax must negotiate with the City of Amsterdam.
Majority interest
Amsterdam is 48 percent owner of the Arena, Ajax for 13 percent. Amsterdam alderman Sport Eric van der Burg says that it “has gone through our mind” to have the municipal share of the stadium in the negotiations. Amsterdam wants to divest holdings. If Ajax can take over the municipal share, the club has a majority interest and the club can save millions of dollars annually rent.
Ajax has in recent years by frugal policy saved a lot of money. That now use Ajax City, to continue to educate players, thus ensuring its survival
