Gold women’s team in team pursuit, men win team sprint – NU.nl

The women, Marije Joling, Antoinette de Jong and Marrit Leenstra, were in the final stage of the Team Pursuit much faster than Germany and clocked 2.56,11.

Japan seized the silver and gave only little supervise Netherlands: 2.56,46. The Russian women, who were third, sat with 2.56,98 also near the winning time.

Netherlands is the Olympic champion in the team pursuit. In 2014 were Leenstra, Jorien ter Mors and Ireen Wüst in the finals too strong for Poland in Sochi

Men

The men’s team, formed by Jan Blokhuijsen, Arjan Stroetinga and Douwe de Vries, already knew from the start problems. Stroetinga struggled to hook up and came early in the race fell.
