It was there Tuesday night at Estadio Vicente Calderon as expected at times particularly unfriendly to it during the Champions League clash between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. Many players were busier than quarrel with scoring and the game also ended in 0-0
.
The best chance of the match was early in the first half for Gareth Bale. The man of 100 million took Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak on his way. The Royal had rest to take away all of the townspeople. Oblak however, was not passing and allowing it to become the hero of the game.
Mario Mandzukic
Interestingly enough, there were in the first half no yellow cards. That was after halftime different. Especially Mario Mandzukic gave very many brawls and a total of five players booked. Only for Real-back Marcelo and Atletico’s Mario Suarez meant the picture a suspension.
Atletico only crept towards the end of the match out of his shell and made with substitute Fernando Torres for what danger. Goals however it did not yield. Real now has seven times in a row not won the archrival.
The return is scheduled for next Wednesday. Check out the results, characteristics and positions in the Champions League
