“KNVB wanted to keep in service Hiddink ‘- nrc.nl

The KNVB did not like the former coach Guus Hiddink stepped by the football association. That said KNVB director Bert van Oostveen in an interview with NOS. It seems that Hiddink himself chose for his resignation.

Last month, Orange defeated Latvia in a European Championship qualifier 2-0. Before the Dutch football team went a few times painfully down. After the match, Hiddink said he wanted to take a step back.

Hiddink himself had the idea to transfer his duties to Danny Blind, while he was present in the background as senior national coach. KNVB there saw nothing, although the Football Van Oostveen were open to other roles. But Hiddink still decided to pack his bags, which Van Oostveen regrets:
