Phil Taylor said after his 5-3 victory over Vincent der Voort with the utmost respect of his Dutch opponent. “Vincent had so much trouble with his back and was in big trouble, but nevertheless still did what he had to do,” praised the 16-time World Champion Van der Voort after their quarter-final encounter at the PDC World Championships.

“I had to ensure that the match was going on, because he was suffering on stage, believe me,” continued Taylor. Van der Voort had the entire World Cup long suffered from his back and ran at each break with pain from the stage. “I found it very annoying for him, but at the same time either.
