Verweij defends Sunday in the 1,500 meters ahead of a half second to Sven Kramer, who performed poorly in the 500 meters and 5 kilometers won convincingly.
Wouter Olde Heuvel after an eighth and a second place number three in the rankings on almost half seconds of Verweij.
Kramer set a course record with 6.17,32 down in the Russian Chelyabinsk. Olde Heuvel was second at an appropriate distance: 6.22,32. Verweij, who won the 500 meters, drove 6.23,86.

Attack
Verweij delivered later in the 5 kilometers a good fight with Olde Heuvel. The defending champion chose from the start for the attack, but had his compatriot Lotto Jumbo still let in the closing stages. Cool Olde Heuvel won the race, but the difference was not nearly enough to stabbing past Verweij in the standings.
Kramer knew in the eleventh and final stage against Sverre Lunde Pedersen which time he had to drive to come on top of the standings. He had to make up more than eight seconds Verweij. Kramer had a good ride, but it was not enough for the lead.
Pedersen is in the rankings best of the rest with fourth place. The Norwegian gives three tenths supervise Olde Heuvel and goes Sunday in the 1500 meters and 10 kilometers an effort to prevent a Dutch stage.
