Verweij continues on Kramer at EK round – NU.nl

Verweij knocked on the 1500 meters in Chelyabinsk Kramer in a direct duel: 1.46,28 to 1.47,41. The Frisian must make up the final 10 kilometers later on Sunday, 11.06 seconds to grab his seventh European title.

Two weeks ago Kramer in the 10,000 meters at the NK-round Thialf seventeen seconds faster than his former teammate.

The virtual stage is no longer completely orange. Wouter Olde Heuvel disappointed with ninth place in a moderate 1.49,30 and he dropped out of place three to six place.

Joeskov did good business with a winning time of 1.46,22. The world champion in the 1,500 meters in 2013 rose to third place in the standings, with a gap of 12.54 seconds Verweij to lock away.

Sverre Lunde Pedersen of Norway was fourth in the 1,500 meters 1.47,32 and is now fourth in the standings. The Norwegian needs more than six seconds to make up on Joeskov for third place.
