Former boxer Vitali Klitsjko, now mayor of Kiev, calling for a boycott of the World Cup in 2018 Russia is taken. “I can not imagine that we are going to a country that supports terrorists and weapons supplies,” he said last night in Hamburg at the presentation of the sport awards from the German newspaper Bild.
Klitsjko hopes for the support of other European countries. “We must defend our European values.” The German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier would like to know anything about another host for the World Cup.
