The 22-year-old De Jong took the last of seven laps from her solo breakaway companions and crossed the line.
Behind the Brabant was Caroline Mani from France in fourteen seconds second. The top favorite Belgian Sanne Cant had to settle for his home crowd with the bronze.
Sophie de Boer ended up not just on the podium and finished fourth. Sabrina Stultiens finished sixth the finish line, while Sanne van Paassen finished her last World Cup in tenth place.
De Jong had after a slow start in pursuit. Its backlog was nearly half a minute. At the start of the final lap of the grueling World Championship course, she could join the competition and ultimately make the difference.
Originally wegrenster began as outsider in the World Cup and could only hope for a medal. Earlier this month she was already surprisingly Dutch champion. De Jong only runs for the second season along with the field rijdsters and discipline for her still afterthought

De Jong is the third Dutch with a world title in cyclocross, after Marianne Vos (2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) and Daphny van den Brand (2003).
Last year the title went to Czech Tabor to the Frenchwoman Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, who could not participate this season with a broken kneecap. Also a year ailing Vos was not fit enough to be at the start in Belgium

Dekker
Dekker Netherlands gave the first gold medal in Heusden-Zolder. The 17-year-old Drent won the championship in the juniors.
Dekker rode at the end of the first round away from his rivals and kept his lead until the finish. The Frenchmen Mickael Crispin and Thomas Bonnet achieved respectively silver and bronze.
Dekker, nephew of former pro rider Erik Dekker, performs with his title in the footsteps of some big names in the field driving.
Lars Boom was junior world champion in 2003 and Mathieu van der Poel, on Sunday for his second rainbow jersey is among the elite, won the junior title in 2012 and 2013.

The rain in the north of Belgium had the trail made heavier in Heusden-Zolder than it was the last day of the training.
“The track seemed no meter on the round we had trained this week but that is me just getting better, “said Dekker.
