ATP chairman denies ‘laziness’ in fight against match fixing – NU.nl

“This type of fraud we want to banish, there is Zero tolerance ,” said Kermode Monday at a press conference during the first day of the Australian Open.

Sunday reported the BBC that ATP documents in hands would have evidence that there has been possible match fixing in the past decade at the highest level.

The Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) did the last few years researching suspect tennis matches and striking gokbedragen. That yielded results, but there would be nothing done with it by the ATP.

“We are not really lazy,” Kermode rejects those allegations.

“Of course we are Aware that match fixing is a danger, therefore, we have also established the TIU in 2008. We have already spent $ fourteen million invested in this fight. “

An interview with the BBC reported Kermode previously that although there is match fixing in tennis, but they occur on an “incredibly small scale”
