Jelle Wallays was obviously overjoyed after his victory in Dwars door Vlaanderen. That teammate Edward Teuns second was made the success of Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise complete.

Wallays was already in the long flight but could still participate in the finals with teammate Teuns , world champion Michal Kwiatkowski (Etixx-Quick Step) and Dylan van Baarle (Cannondale-Garmin)

“This course suits me, I knew I had to keep going,” Wallays said at the finish. “I had used in the flight many forces, well that Edward was with. I had to gamble on a hesitation because I did not have much strength left. I even had cramps in the last four kilometers. In the last kilometer I was the first one but I knew this was my only chance. Big thank you to Edward let me go but otherwise I still every effort to oust him perfectly. It was wonderful that we are one and two could be together. “

Paris-Tours is the second major victory of Wallays. “That’s obviously very important because I want to a bigger team, a ProTour team. With a second major victory comes though, I hope. “
