The fourteenth stage of the Tour - from Rodez to Mende - will have produced no landslide in the standings. Chris Froome and Nairo Quintana were the main winners of the day in the big names. But Romain Bardet did a good job and may hope again in the top-10.

The biggest change in the rankings is the fact that Nairo Quintana over Tejay Van Garderen flips to second place. Van Garderen today lost 40 seconds on the Colombian and pulls the Alps in third. Furthermore, Van Garderen also lost precious seconds on Valverde and Contador, and he feels the hot breath of the two Spaniards in his neck.

The duo Froome-Quintana anyway did the best thing in the classification riders on the Montée Laurent Jalabert so that the gap with the rest of the top ten again became larger. Thus Froome for the Alps for nearly nine minutes ahead of the number ten, Bauke Mollema.

Romain Bardet was particularly disappointed for missing the stage victory, but did an excellent thing in the rankings. The young Frenchman flips from the fifteenth to twelfth place in the standings and - more importantly - the top-ten again in sight. To stage the difference Mollema was 9'24 ", now it is still 4'17". Not unachievable with four heavy Alps rides ahead.
