Dafne Schippers has qualified for the final of the 200 meters at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing. The reigning European champion at the distance won her semi-final with great ease. The 23-year-old Schippers finished in a time of 22.36 seconds

The athlete thus ran slightly slower than her personal best of 22.03 seconds her. However, this was partly because Schippers so far on her competition was that they already began the final twenty meters with spouts. In the other semi-finals were only four athletes faster than Schippers.

Schippers favorite 200 meters

Beijing Utrecht is one of the favorites in the 200 meters, especially now Jamaican defending champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and American Olympic champion Allyson Felix did not participate in the distance. Tomorrow Schippers is the final of her favorite distance.

Earlier this week, the Dutch won a medal at the other sprint distance, the 100 meters. She became second behind Fraser-Pryce. It was only the second time ever that a Dutch woman won a medal at the athletics World Championships. First they won even when Schippers explained in 2013 seized the bronze medal in the heptathlon.

Sifan Hassan is final 800 meters mis

Other than Schippers managed Sifan Hassan did not to qualify for the finals. The 22-year-old Dutch ended the 800 meters this afternoon as fifth in her semifinal. Wednesday won the Ethiopian born still the bronze medal in the 1,500 meters. A day later, she had been the series on the 800 meter run.
