The former player of Manchester United among others signed Wednesday a contract for 3.5 years and sits directly on Thursday the bank for the European home match against Celtic.
The 42-year-old Solskjaer is the successor of Erlin Moe, who was from August interim coach following the departure of Tor Ole Skullerud.
Before the former attacker from 2011 to 2014 was already three years as a trainer in Molde, where the Norwegian as a player also one season was under contract, for he played from 1996 to 2007 for United.
After leaving Molde Solskjaer was briefly coach of Cardiff City. In recent months he trained Claus Engen of youth, the club where he grew up.
