Ethiopian runner Ayele Abshero is attracted by the organization of the Amsterdam Marathon to attack. Course record on October 19 The 23-year-old Abshero has a personal best of 2:04:23. During that time he won the 2012 Dubai Marathon. The track record of Amsterdam is in the hands of three-time winner Wilson Chebet from Kenya with 2:05:36.
Abshero already achieved success in the Netherlands. He won last year Egmond Half Marathon and in 2008 as a 17-year-old’s Zevenheuvelenloop. The Brazilian Marilson Dos Santos also runs in Amsterdam. The 37-year-old South American has won in his career twice the famous New York Marathon and finished in the Olympic marathon in London in 2012 as fifth.
