Guus Hiddink, head coach of the Dutch national team, Sven van Beek has included in its pre-selection for European Championship qualifiers against Iceland and Kazakhstan. That makes the KNVB announced Wednesday.
The pre-selection of Hiddink has thirty names. Van Beek’s most outstanding player in the provisional group. He is the first picture in the Dutch national team. Kenneth Vermeer (Feyenoord) returns to the pre-selection. This also applies to Quincy Promes (Spartak Moscow) and Davy Pröpper (Vitesse). Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburger SV) is missing. The midfielder has been struggling for several weeks with physical discomfort. The injured Memphis Depay (PSV) is lacking compared to the previous selection of Hiddink.
Van Beek benefits in Rotterdam the departure of Bruno Martins Indi, Daryl Janmaat and Stefan de Vrij. Under coach Fred Rutten the youngster gets the chance to prove himself at the highest level. The twenty youth international arrived this season in six Premier League games in action on behalf of Feyenoord. In those games, he left a good impression on Hiddink. Van Beek is in central defense and at right from the feet. He made his debut last season in the first team of Feyenoord.
Another notable name in the pre-selection is that of Pröpper. The Vitesse midfielder, under Louis van Gaal also sometimes could smell Orange, sees his excellent form will be rewarded with a place in the pre-selection. Erik Pieters (Stoke City) is again present, even after he was allowed to volunteer. Past month after a long absence back to the Dutch team Vermeer, now he first goalkeeper was at Feyenoord, again in the race for a place in the final squad for the upcoming matches.
