The 46-year-old Mihajlovic signed for two seasons, reports the Italian club’s website on Tuesday.
The departure of Inzaghi hung in the air for weeks and the Serb was certainly since his departure early this month at Sampdoria pushed forward as the leading candidate to succeed the former striker.
Under the leadership of Inzaghi finished the ‘Rossoneri’ in a disappointing tenth place in Serie A. This eighteen times champion missed Italy for the second year running European football.

Mihajlovic came as a player between 1992 and 2006 in the Serie A, consecutively for AS Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter. With the latter club began the 63 international his coaching career as an assistant to Roberto Mancini.
The former defender was in 2008 at Bologna for the first time on their own. Mihajlovic then also coached Catania, Fiorentina, the national team of Serbia and Sampdoria. With that final squad last season he finished seventh in Serie A, after he refused a new contract with the team from Genoa.
