ESSA published Thursday’s data showing that globally 73 tennis matches as suspect identified by a special system that monitors gambling.
This means that there is a suspicion of match fixing, though not fixed . There is often unusually gambling, suggesting that players were paid to lose intentionally.
Tennis Federation KNLTB is aware of the suspicions. walk examine it to the games, but as long as it comes to suspicions, the union will not say who’s playing and where the party took place.
There are the union no further suspicions known and there are no further investigations to parties where possible existence of match fixing.
In the Netherlands have previously been suspicions of match fixing. In 2014, a study was launched on two tennis parties. The first was a game of Hans Podlipnik-Castillo against Matwé Middelkoop in Alphen aan den Rijn.
The suspicion directed against the Chilean Podlipnik but afterwards no evidence of corruption was found. In the same year tennis federation KNLTB reported that tennis Antal van der Duim and Boy Westerhof had played an accused party in the German Meerbusch.
Turkey
The report of ESSA shows that in addition to 73 tennis matches also nineteen football matches and a total of eight table tennis, hockey, snooker and greyhound races have been identified as suspicious. Most suspect tennis parties have played in Turkey (eight), Tunisia and Argentina (both seven).
Last month, Buzz Feed and BBC that past ten years many competitions, among others senior players as suspected seen. The media claimed that the tennis authorities were not doing enough on the issue or even held under the cap.
