Update
The BeNe League, the women’s competition for Dutch and Belgian football, is working on the final season. The KNVB and Dutch clubs will consult on a new top competition without Belgian participants.
The Dutch and Belgian football or even discuss cooperation after three years in a different way can take shape. The KNVB and Dutch clubs like before March 1, draw up the plans for a full Dutch league. The starting point is to get at least until a league of eight clubs formed by the seven existing clubs and a new participant. All parties see this as a temporary solution and eventually want to compete with at least twelve members.
,, Our contact with the club is good and we are convinced that for the 2015/16 season one nice competition can put together, “says director Hans amateur Spierings of the KNVB. ,, In the long term we want to expand the competition to a minimum of twelve clubs. The women’s football is on the rise and performance as that of Orange under 19 and Dutch women’s team contribute to the enthusiasm. Like the European Championship in 2017 that we recently took to the Netherlands. Due to these positive developments, we believe that more clubs are getting interested to come out at the highest Dutch level. ”
