Verbeek wants as soon as possible with Bundesliga Bochum – NU.nl

“The club and I have the ambition to get into the Bundesliga as quickly as possible,” said Verbeek, who reached agreement Sunday with his new club.

The 52-year-old Dutchman put his signature Monday under a contract that binds him to Bochum until the summer of 2016. He is the current number eleven of the second Bundesliga, the successor of Peter Neururer, who earlier this month had to leave.

“The challenge is to play attractive football and get more points,” Verbeek said. “I always try to play football that is fun for the fans. And it’s always more fun when you have the ball.”

The former defender looked all Sunday’s home match against Bochum Erzgebirge Aue (1-1 ). He is not satisfied with the level of his new team. “They can certainly good football, there is no doubt about it.”

Verbeek was eight months ago fired at 1. FC Nürnberg. The former coach of Heracles, Heerenveen, Feyenoord and AZ takes assistant Raymond Libregts to Germany.

The Dutch duo makes his league debut on the bench on February 7, 2015 with an away match against 1. FC Union Berlin. In preparation for that game exerts Bochum on January 23 against Bayern Munich
