Kramer leads after two distances, Bergsma wins 5000 meters – NU.nl

Rookie Bergsma scored with 6.13,53 the best time in the 5,000 meters, for Kramer (6.15,43) and Wouter Olde Heuvel (6.18,50).

It was the first time in nearly three year that Kramer did not win a five kilometer which he started and was not disqualified. At the time, the Frisian was beaten by Bob de Jong at the World Cup in Hamar.

The Young drove in Heerenveen Saturday the fifth time, but was later disqualified. The 38-year veteran was deleted from the results after ticking of two cubes and Sunday may not be at the start with his beloved 10 kilometers.

After two distances defends Kramer Sunday in the 1,500 meters ahead 1.05 seconds Olde Heuvel. Defending champion Koen Verweij, who earlier on Saturday won the 500 meters, is third at 1.56.

The 28-year Bergsma, who never took office on an all-round championship, occupied after day one in the sixth Thialf place. European champion Jan Blokhuijsen is disappointing fifth, behind Douwe de Vries.

Kramer can win his sixth-round title this weekend. Thus he walks in on Hilbert van der Duim, who with seven titles first is on the eternal list.
