Flowers scoring world record at 10 kilometers, Richardson 1500m – NU.nl

Flowers clocked in the penultimate stage in the Utah Olympic Oval 12.36,30 which he was more than five seconds faster than the top time which Kramer put down on March 10, 2007 (12.41,69).

The Fries took the last ride against world and Olympic champion Jorrit Bergsma, but both Dutch bites itself piece on the time of Flowers.

Bergsma was even completely broken in the closing stages, allowing Kramer (12.44,26 ) overtook him and took silver. His great rival Team Clafis quit 12.53,99 just stand for bronze.

1500 m

In the women Richardson broke the world record in the 1,500 meters in a time of 1.50,85. They thus trumped her compatriot Brittany Bowe down in a direct duel.

The US did come to a personal record in 1.51,31, but that time was not worth more than silver.

Marrit Leenstra landed just outside the podium (fourth) with a time of 1.53,70. Martina Sablikova won the bronze medal in Salt Lake City. 1.53,44

Antoinette De Jong rewarded her race with a personal best: 1.54,51. The same applied to the Sanneke Neeling that went into 1.55,27 crossed the line in the 1500 meters.



Kooiman

The third Dutchman in the A group at the 10th kilometer, Erik Jan Kooiman, finished seventh in 12.58,07. The 29-year-old stayer Team Clafis took more than four seconds, his personal best, which left him in February at the World Single Distance Championships in Heerenveen after Bergsma had taken silver.

Kooiman surprised three weeks ago at the Dutch Federation Cup Enschede yet by the 10th kilometer to win Bergsma and Kramer.

The German Patrick Beckert was 12.55,01 fourth, just ahead of Belgian Bart Swings (12.57,31) and Peter Michael. The 26-year-old New Zealander, as multiple world champion inline skating last season made the transition to skating, 12.58,07 scored his first ever 10km
