Michael van Gerwen, Vincent van der Voort and Benito Pass did have success. Van Gerwen defeated world junior champion Keegan Brown (6-4) and coming in the next round against Vincent van der Voort, who had no trouble with Justin Pipe (6-1). Pass won by Stephen Bunting 6-4
Phil Taylor was eliminated in the first round in a cracker against defending champion Gary Anderson: 5-6
