Feyenoord group winner after easy win over Standard Liege – NUsport.nl

Feyenoord Thursday by a simple 3-0 win over Standard Liege in the Europa League winner of Group G.

The Rotterdam, who were sure of the knock -outfase, triumphed in Liege by hits from Jens Toornstra, Jean-Paul Boëtius and Elvis Manu.

Feyenoord ends by three points on the first place in Group G, above that Sevilla won 1-0 NK Rijeka.

Coach Fred Rutten began with the 20-year-old rookie Lucas Woudenberg in the base. In the second half Wessel Dammers also made his debut in the first team as a substitute for Terence Kongolo, who was not feeling well.

Halfway through the first half had fallen too Khalid Boulahrouz. The right back was replaced by Luke Wilkshire.

In addition to the injury of Boulahrouz went the last group match flawlessly for Feyenoord. The team had ultimately little trouble with Standard Liege, already before the start knew that the European adventure was over.

After the Rotterdam early in the race were given a first chance by Colin Kazim-Richards (to safety) , Toornstra broke after fifteen minutes the ban. The midfielder surprised goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima by shooting a free kick at the near post.

Fifteen minutes after the break was still 2-0 there. Boëtius slid the second goal after a great outplayed attack. The resistance of Standard was at that moment broken, after Feyenoord the game could play calmly.

Substitute Elvis Manu made it into the final stage even 3-0 and therefore can Feyenoord with a satisfied feeling back Rotterdam travel
