PSV losing final group game in final phase of Dinamo Moscow – NUsport.nl

PSV Thursday the final group match of the Europa League against Dinamo Moscow lost 1-0.

Aleksey Ionov recorded one minute before time for the only goal of the match at the Philips Stadium.

The Eindhoven were beyond the point at Estoril (3-3) already sure of the knock-out phase. Dinamo Moscow also knew that would overwinter as group winner and so both teams played only for the profit contribution.

PSV coach Phillip Cocu took the opportunity to award a single fixed base players rest. Luuk de Jong, Luciano Narsingh, Jeffrey Bruma, Santiago Arias, Jeroen Zoet and Georginio Wijnaldum started on the bench. Therefore might start include Jürgen Locadia, Florian Jozefzoon and Remko Pasveer.

Dinamo Moscow began former PSV players Stanislav Manolev and Balázs Dzsudzsák in the base, as Douglas (former Twente). Alexander Büttner was missing through injury.

Energetic

Both teams went flying start and had opportunities to open the score. Striker Kevin Kuranyi had the 1-0 on his foot for visitors from Russia, but saw his shot blocked be close.

Not much later Jozefzoon knew an outbreak of PSF not to reward with a goal. The winger ran into goalkeeper Anton Shunin.

In the second half the game remained the same image. Among others Wijnaldum (pole) and Memphis Depay (next shot) had chances to PSV deserved victory, but PSV came but failed to score.

Dinamo Moscow succeeded eventually. Ionov gave his team one minute before the sixth victory this group stage and PSV remained empty-handed
